Mariners activate RHP Nick Vincent from the 10-day DL

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
•    Nick Vincent, RHP, returned from rehab assignment at AA Arkansas and activated from the 10-day disabled list.
•    Ryan Cook, RHP, optioned to AAA Tacoma.  
Vincent (#50) will be in uniform and available for tonight's (4:10 pm PT / 7:10 pm ET) game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. 
Vincent, 31 (turns 32 on July 12), was originally placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 27 with a strained right groin. He began a rehab assignment with AA Arkansas on June 18, where he allowed 1 hit in 1.0 scoreless inning in a start on June 18 at Northwest Arkansas. In 25 relief appearances with the Mariners this season, Vincent is 3-1 with 10 holds and a 4.09 ERA (10 ER, 22.0 IP). The 6-foot, 187-pound right-hander has struck out 23 and walked 6. In his last 13 outings prior to going on the disabled list (4/28-5/26), he went 2-1 with 5 holds and a 2.13 ERA (3 ER, 12.2 IP) while recording 12 strikeouts and 3 walks. 
Vincent is in his 3rd season with the Mariners after being acquired from San Diego in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on March 30, 2016 (sent cash considerations on July 1, 2016). In parts of 7 Major League seasons with the Padres (2012-15) and Mariners (2016-c), he is 19-14 with 4 saves and a 3.08 ERA (102 ER, 297.2 IP) with 299 strikeouts and 73 walks in 315 games. 
Cook, 30, is 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA (7 ER, 9.1 IP) with 14 strikeouts and 6 walks in 11 relief appearances with the Mariners this season. He was selected from AAA Tacoma on May 17 and was unscored upon in his first 5 outings (5/17-29), allowing just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 6 in 4.2 scoreless innings. Since May 30, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound right-hander has allowed at least 1 run in 4 of his last 6 appearances, including 3 outings in which he allowed 2 runs. During that span (5/30-c), he is 1-1 with a 13.50 ERA (7 ER, 4.2 IP), allowing 8 hits (3 home runs) and 5 walks while striking out 8. Prior to being selected by the Mariners, he was 0-1 with 2 saves and a 2.03 ERA (3 ER, 13.1 IP) with 17 strikeouts and 3 walks with AAA Tacoma this season. 
Cook has appeared in parts of 6 Major League seasons with Arizona (2011), Oakland (2012-15), Boston (2015) and Seattle (2018-c), compiling a record of 14-13 with 17 saves and a 3.58 ERA (86 ER, 216.1 IP) while striking out 224 and walking 95. The native of Clovis, CA, signed a 2-year minor league contract with the Mariners on Nov. 14, 2016. He missed the entire 2017 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on Oct. 20, 2016. He was originally selected by the Diamondbacks in the 27th round of the 2008 MLB Draft out of the University of Southern California.
