Fans at Marlins games can win a new car

'Marlins Year of the Fan Sweepstakes, Driven by AutoNation' to award 2018 Ford Focus or Chevy Cruze at 25 home games, beginning Opening Day

MIAMI -- The Miami Marlins today announced a new partnership with AutoNation, America's largest automotive retailer, through which the organization will be awarding a prize of a 24-month car lease to select fans during the 2018 season. An initial sweepstakes - "Marlins Year of the Fan Sweepstakes, Driven by AutoNation" - has been set to award a 24-month car lease on the dates of 25 select home games throughout the 2018 season schedule, beginning with Opening Day on Thursday, March 29.

"This is a great way to give back to our fans, with the support and partnership of AutoNation - a nationally recognized brand based right here in South Florida," said Marlins CEO Derek Jeter. "We are Just Gettin' Started at Marlins Park as we continue to explore creative ways in which to enhance the fan experience and begin new relationships with the surrounding business community."

Fans in attendance at each select home game - which include all Tuesday and Saturday dates on the Marlins' 2018 home schedule through early September - will be eligible for that date's drawing by scanning their valid, digital game ticket, stored on a mobile device, upon entry to Marlins Park prior to the end of the third inning. The 24-month car lease awarded to the winner of each game date's random drawing among all eligible entries will feature either a 2018 Ford Focus or 2018 Chevy Cruze.

Additional details on the organization's season-long partnership with AutoNation will be announced in the weeks ahead.
