All-Star finalists announced on MLB Network

June 30th, 2022

Read our FAQ on the balloting format, which includes two phases of fan voting to determine the All-Star starters.

The races to decide the American League and National League All-Star starters from the 2022 Chevrolet MLB All-Star Ballot are just getting started.

The top two vote-getters at each position, including designated hitter, and the top six outfielders in each league were revealed on MLB Network on Thursday night. The leading vote-getter in each league (Ronald Acuña Jr. in the NL and Aaron Judge in the AL) received a spot in his team’s starting lineup while the other top vote-getters advanced to Phase 2 of voting. Since both top vote-getters were outfielders, the next four outfield finalists move on to Phase 2 to determine who starts at the two remaining spots.

The second phase of All-Star voting will begin Tuesday at noon ET and continue until 2 p.m. ET on Friday, July 8. During this period, fans can vote only once a day for whom they want to see in Midsummer Classic, and vote totals from Phase 1 don’t carry over.

This will all lead up to the 2022 Chevrolet MLB All-Star Starters Reveal show on Friday, July 8, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The pitchers and reserves for both squads -- totaling 23 players for each side -- will be determined via “Player Ballot” choices and selections made by the Commissioner’s Office. The complete All-Star rosters will be announced during the 2022 Chevrolet MLB All-Star Selection Show on July 10 at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The All-Star Game itself, at Dodger Stadium, will be on Tuesday, July 19, on FOX.
