Baty's big night leads charge for Brooklyn

The future looked very bright in the Big Apple on Tuesday.

did his best to live up to the hype as the Mets' No. 4 prospect came a triple shy of the cycle in High-A Brooklyn’s 11-5 win over Jersey Shore.

In the first inning, Baty opened the floodgates for Brooklyn with his first home run of the year, a solo shot off Phillies farmhand Josh Hendrickson. He followed that up with a single in the fifth and wrapped up the night with a double in the eighth.

Baty ended the night 3-for-4 with three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. He was very efficient in his at-bats as all three of his hits drove in a run.

It was a good day for the Cyclones. Not only did Baty get it done at the plate, but several other prominent Mets prospects did so as well.

, New York's top prospect, belted his first home run at the High-A level in the eighth and second-ranked slapped a two-run triple in the fifth.

The Cyclones collected 12 hits and had a total of 17 baserunners. Cyclones pitching struck out 10 BlueClaws for extra measure.
