Zack Wheeler's big-league promotion has seemed imminent for days now with the most recent sign of a looming callup coming on Monday when Jay Horwitz, the club's vice president of media relations, flew across the country to meet with Wheeler in-person.
ESPN reported that Wheeler's first start would occur next Friday.
The purpose of this visit was to prime Wheeler on what to expect following his promotion. Horwitz took to Twitter to comment on the trip once it became public.
"Set a personal record this week with five flights since Sunday. Have got enough frequent flier miles now for a two-week trip to Mexico," Horwitz tweeted.
