NEW YORK -- Mets right-hander Edwin Díaz hasn't pitched since Sept. 8. Manager Mickey Callaway said on Sunday there is nothing wrong with his closer. In fact, Diaz threw a bullpen session toward the end of Saturday's game against the Dodgers. He was available for Sunday night's game but was not called upon in the Mets' 3-2 loss at Citi Field.

Diaz is enduring the worst season of his career, with a 5.77 ERA and 25 saves. He also has set career highs with seven blown saves and 14 home runs allowed. While Diaz was out of action, the Mets' past three save opportunities went to Seth Lugo or Justin Wilson.

But Callaway said Diaz will pitch in big moments in the future.

"We continue to have faith that he is going to go out and get some big outs for us," Callaway said. "It's hard to guess what situations [he would be used in]."

Injury report
• J.D. Davis left Sunday's game in the seventh inning after he was hit by a pitch from Dodgers rookie Dustin May. The ball hit Davis' left arm pad before plunking him on the ribs. He had X-rays, which didn't show a significant injury.

• Callaway said Todd Frazier was available Sunday, but the veteran third baseman did not enter the game. In the eighth inning on Saturday, Frazier was hit on the left hand by a pitch from right-hander Joe Kelly. Frazier received X-rays on the hand, and the results were encouraging, according to Callaway.
