Mets garner 25 nominations for Esurance MLB Awards
NEW YORK -- Considering how many of their players have already been nominated for Esurance MLB Awards, the Mets are a good bet to take home plenty of hardware this winter. Fan favorite Wilmer Flores is among the list of Mets hopefuls for 17 different awards.
Flores is up for Best Moment for his tears-to-cheers walk-off home run on July 31, two days after a near-trade to the Brewers. He will compete in that category against one of his teammates, pitcher Steven Matz, who drove home four runs at the plate in his Major League debut.

Other nominees include Yoenis Cespedes in the Best Performance category for his three-homer game at Coors Field, Terry Collins for Best Manager and Sandy Alderson for Best Executive, as well as a slew of multimedia and social media nominees.

The Esurance MLB Awards annually honor Major League Baseball's greatest achievements as part of an industry-wide balloting process that includes five components, each of which accounts for 20 percent of the overall vote: media, front-office personnel, retired MLB players, fans at MLB.com and Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) voters.
Individual awards will go to the Best Major Leaguer in addition to the winners in the following categories: The Best Everyday Player, Starting Pitcher, Rookie, Defensive Player, Breakout Player, Bounceback Player, Manager, Executive, Social Media Personality and postseason performer.
Winners will also be recognized for the year's best offensive play, defensive play, Moment, single-game performance, Social Media Post, Celebrity Fan, Fan Catch, Interview, TV call, radio call, Player-Fan Interaction, Video Board Moment and Trending Topic.
The Mets have plenty of nominees in those categories, including Jeurys Familia for Best Breakout Player, Matt Harvey for Best Bounceback Player, Cespedes for Best Major Leaguer and Best Everyday Player, Howie Rose for Best Call, Radio, Jacob deGrom for Best Starting Pitcher and Noah Syndergaard for Best Rookie.

Ernie Johnson's call of Daniel Murphy's record-setting homer in Game 4 of the National League Championship Series and Gary Cohen's description of a bizarre putout are nominated for Best Call, TV, while Jimmy Kimmel is nominated for Best Celebrity Fan.
Murphy and deGrom's interaction after the club's win in Game 1 of the NLCS is nominated for Best Interview, while the fan kissing Collins is up for Best Player-Fan Interaction.
Cespedes awing Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock is up for Best Social Media Post.
Voting will remain open through 11:59 p.m. ET tonight by visiting mlb.com/awards. Winners will be announced live on MLB Network and MLB.com on Nov. 20.
