Mets recall RHP Logan Verrett; option INF Ty Kelly

The New York Mets today announced the club has recalled RHP Logan Verrett from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and optioned infielder Ty Kelly to Las Vegas. Verrett will wear #35 and will be available for today's game.

The New York Mets today announced the club has recalled RHP Logan Verrett from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and optioned infielder Ty Kelly to Las Vegas. Verrett will wear #35 and will be available for today's game.
 
Verrett, who turned 26 on June 19, is 3-4 with a 4.02 ERA (18 earned runs/40.1 innings) in 19 games, four starts for New York this year. The 6-2, 190-pounder had a career-high 16.1 scoreless inning streak with the Mets from April 13-26. Verrett is 2-2 with a 2.49 ERA (six earned runs/21.2 innings) in 15 games in relief this year.
 
He made one start for the 51s (June 16 vs. Reno) and tossed 6.0 shutout innings, allowed two hits, five walks and struck out two. Verrett opened the season with the Mets before he was optioned to Las Vegas on June 12.
 
Kelly, 27, was hitting .148 (4-27) with one home run and two RBI in 14 games with New York.
