Mets Roster Moves

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 14, 2014 - The New York Mets today announced the club placed righthanded pitcher Dillon Gee on the 15-Day Disabled List, retroactive to May 11, with a strained right lat. The club also selected the contract of Rafael Montero from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and announced righthander Jacob deGrom will take Gee's spot in the rotation tomorrow night.

Gee, 28, is 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA in eight starts this season. He tossed 6.0 innings on May 10 vs. Philadelphia, receiving a no-decision in a 5-4 loss.

Montero, 23, is set to make his major league debut tonight against the Yankees. He will wear #50. Montero was 4-1 with a 3.67 ERA (17 earned runs/41.2 innings) in eight starts for the 51s.

deGrom, 25, was recalled from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League on May 13. He was 4-0 with a 2.58 ERA in seven starts for the 51s and is wearing #48 with the Mets.
