Mets sign 4th-round Draft pick Thompson

Third baseman among 11 to sign on Monday

NEW YORK -- Fourth-round Draft pick David Thompson, this season's national collegiate leader in home runs and RBIs, was among 11 picks the Mets officially signed on Monday.

Thompson, a third baseman from the University of Miami, paced all Division 1 college players with 19 home runs and 87 RBIs in the regular season.

The Mets also signed the collegiate batting average leader, ninth-round pick University of Evansville outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski, along with nine others: 11th-round left-handed pitcher Jake Simon, 12th-round right-hander Joe Shaw, 13th-round lefty P.J. Conlon, 14th-round second baseman Vincent Siena, 16th-round right-hander Dillon Becker, 18th-round right-hander Jordan Humphreys, 20th-round right-hander Thomas McIlraith, 23rd-round outfielder Kenneth Bautista and 28th-round catcher Anthony Dimino.
