Eloy Jimenez collected his share of memorable hits during his time in the Cubs' system. On Thursday, the No. 8 overall prospect picked up his first as a member of the White Sox, hitting a go-ahead two-run single for Class A Advanced Winston-Salem that proved the difference in a 3-2 win against his former team, Myrtle Beach.
The two Chicago organizations surprised the baseball world early Thursday with the announcement that the Cubs were trading Jimenez, along with right-hander Dylan Cease (No. 63 overall), first baseman Matt Rose and second baseman Bryant Flete, to the White Sox in a blockbuster deal for Jose Quintana.
Luckily for Jimenez -- who slots in behind Yoan Moncada as the White Sox No. 2 prospect -- the process of joining his new team was a simple as switching dugouts, as Myrtle Beach was already slated to play a four-game series in Winston-Salem beginning Thursday.
Starting in right field and batting fourth in his Dash debut, Jimenez popped out in his first at-bat before delivering a two-run single with two outs in the top of the third inning. The hit, coming on a 3-2 pitch with runners on second and third base, broke a 1-1 tie and ultimately put Winston-Salem up for good. It was his only hit in four at-bats.

Jimenez, a 20-year-old outfielder, batted .271 with eight homers and 32 RBIs in 42 games this year with Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach prior to Thursday's trade. He appeared in his second straight SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game last Sunday after earning Carolina League All-Star honors and showing his light-tower (and light-breaking) power earlier this month in the circuit's home run derby.

• No. 4 overall prospect J.P. Crawford (Phillies' No. 1) hit a solo homer off of Bartolo Colon in Triple-A Lehigh Valley's win over Rochester. It was the seventh homer of the season for the 22-year-old shortstop, who's now gone deep five times in 11 games in July after he totaled two in his previous 66 contests.

• No. 26 overall prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (Blue Jays' No. 1) went 2-for-4 both and Bo Bichette (No. 97 overall, Blue Jays' No. 5) went 3-for-5 in Class A Advanced Dunedin's loss against Tampa. The 18-year-old Guerrero's two hits, both singles, were his first since moving up to the Florida State League, while Bichette, 19, is now 5-for-13 through three games.
• In his first start since suiting up for the World Team in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, No. 64 overall prospect Mike Soroka (Braves' No. 4) returned to Double-A Mississippi's rotation to fire seven scoreless innings and pace the M-Braves in a shutout of Pensacola. The 19-year-old righty allowed four hits and struck out six while generating seven ground-ball outs and throwing 61 of his 94 pitches for strikes. He's 10-5 in 17 starts this season with a 2.37 ERA that ranks second among active Southern League hurlers.

• No. 86 overall prospect Ronald Acuna's (Braves' No. 7) 13th home run marked his first Triple-A hit as he went on to go 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs in Gwinnett's rout of Charlotte. The 19-year-old outfielder was promoted to the Minors' highest level -- already his third level in 2017 -- after batting .326/.374/.520 with 24 extra-base hits including nine home runs in 57 games with Double-A Mississippi. He also tallied 19 stolen bases and 30 RBIs while scoring 29 runs.
• Orioles No. 4 prospect Ryan Mountcastle doubled and scored a pair of runs while going 5-for-5, though it wasn't enough to keep Class A Advanced Frederick from falling to Buies Creek, 6-5. The 20-year-old shortstop is the Carolina League's active leader in batting (.321) and doubles (34) and runs scored (62), and he owns a share of second place with 15 home runs.
• Astros No. 7 prospectTeoscar Hernandez pushed his home run total to 10 with a pair of solo shots for Triple-A Fresno in their win over Tacoma. It was the 24-year-old outfielder's second two-homer game this season after he accomplished the feat on June 15.

• Yankees No. 9 prospect Miguel Andujar connected on a solo homer and finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored in Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's win over Buffalo. The 22-year-old's second home run in three games was also his third since being promoted from Double-A Trenton, where he hit seven homers and 23 doubles in 67 games while hitting .312.
• Red Sox No. 10 prospect Brian Johnson fired seven scoreless innings to pace Triple-A Pawtucket in a shutout of Syracuse. Throwing 57 of his 90 pitches for strikes, the 26-year-old southpaw allowed three hits and two walks while striking out a pair. He's 3-1 with a 2.68 ERA in 10 starts this season with Pawtucket.

• Pirates No. 10 prospect Taylor Hearn recorded 10 of his 14 outs via the strikeout while allowing four hits in 4 2/3 scoreless innings for Class A Advanced Bradenton. The double-digit strikeout performance marked a new career high for the 22-year-old lefty, who's punched out 106 batters in 87 1/3 innings (10.9 K/9) this season in the Florida State League.
• Braves No. 11 prospectTouki Toussaint got back on track for Class A Advanced Florida as he racked up a season-high 10 strikeouts while tossing seven innings of one-run ball. He allowed six hits and three walks in the performance. Though the 21-year-old righty's ERA sits at 5.46 for the season, it's worth noting that he also has 104 strikeouts in 92 1/3 innings, during which he's allowed just seven home runs.
• Rockies No. 15 prospect Jordan Patterson drove in five runs with a pair of home runs including a third-inning grand slam in Triple-A Albuquerque's win against Las Vegas. He has four home runs in his last four games and 16 in 82 games this season after Thursday's multi-homer performance, which also extended the 25-year-old's hitting streak to six games.

• Mets No. 22 prospectChris Flexen carried a no-hitter for Double-A Binghamton into the eighth inning before allowing a solo home run with one out. It was the only hit the 23-year-old righty would allow in eight innings, as he walked one and struck out nine while throwing a season-high 108 pitches (70 strikes). He owns a 5-1 record and a 1.73 ERA through six Double-A starts, with a 43-to-4 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 41 2/3 innings.
