Erie got the offense going in the first. Andrew Jenkins singled home two with two outs to give Erie the 2-0 lead after one.
Mound Presence
Rafe Schlesinger ran into a lot of deep counts in his start on Thursday night. Erie scratched two runs (one earned) in the first inning. The left-hander settled in to keep the SeaWolves off the board over the next two innings. In total, Schlesinger tossed three innings allowing the two runs while striking out one on 80 pitches. Zach Jacobs struck out two over two scoreless innings. Adam Tulloch allowed three runs over two-thirds of an inning. Zane Morehouse allowed four runs over two and a third innings.

Akron cut into the Erie lead in the sixth. Bennett Thompson singled before advancing to second on a wild pitch and to third on a passed ball. Dean Curley followed with an RBI single to left to make it 2-1 SeaWolves. Akron got a second run in the ninth when Nick Mitchell grounded out with the bases loaded to score Aaron Walton to make it 9-2 Erie.
