Summary

Turning Point

After leading off the game with a home run in the first, Cesarini looked for another in the second. Maick Collado singled with two outs to keep the inning alive and put runners at first and second. Cesarini followed with a two-out, three-run home run to make it 4-0 Akron.

Mound Presence

Favors was lights out on Friday night. The only mistake the left-hander made was a solo home run in the fourth as he tossed a season-long seven innings while striking out 10. Izaak Martinez struck out two in a scoreless eighth. Adam Tulloch tossed a scoreless ninth with a strikeout.

Duck Tales

Cesarini got Akron’s offense going with a solo home run on the first pitch of the game. After Cesarini’s second homer made it 4-0 after two, the RubberDucks added two more in the third. Alex Mooney’s two-out single scored Bennett Thompson before a wild pitch brought home Luke Hill to make it 6-0 Akron. The RubberDucks added one more in the eighth. Jace LaViolette singled to put runners on the corners. An errant throw trying to catch LaViolette stealing second allowed Collado to score to make it 7-1 Akron.
