Turning Point
Already up 3-0 after one, Altoona broke the game open in the third. After a walk by Lonnie White Jr. and single by Murf Gray, Will Taylor hit a three-run home run to stretch the Altoona lead to 6-0.
Mound Presence
Sean Matson allowed six runs over four innings while striking out two. Zach Jacobs allowed a run over two innings pitched. Cam Walty allowed four runs (two earned) in his inning of work. Zane Morehouse allowed a run in his inning pitched.
Duck Tales
All of Akron’s offense came in the fifth. Tyresse Turner opened the inning with a single before swiping second base. Cesarini singled and Jaison Chourio worked a walk to load the bases with no outs. Jace LaViolette reached on a fielder’s choice, which allowed Turner to score. Nolan Schubart followed with an RBI single before Bennett Thompson lifted a sac-fly to make it 6-3 Curve.
