Akron’s offense came alive in the sixth. Jace LaViolette opened the inning with a double before advancing to third on an infield single by Aaron Walton. Curley followed with a single to left to put the RubberDucks ahead 1-0. After a groundout advanced Walton to third, Jake Fox lifted a sac-fly to left to score Walton making 2-0 Akron.
Mound Presence
Braylon Doughty was dominant on Thursday night. The right-hander allowed just two hits over four scoreless innings while striking out five. Izaak Martinez struck out three and allowed just one run over three innings of relief. Adam Tulloch and Zach Jacobs each struck out a batter in perfect innings of work to finish out the win.
Duck Tales
Harrisburg pitching held Akron to just five baserunners outside of the sixth inning. The RubberDucks finished the game 2-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left seven on base.
