Summary                                                                                      

Nolan Schubart and Jace LaViolette each homered, but the Harrisburg Senators rallied back twice to beat the Akron RubberDucks 8-7 on Friday night at 7 17 Credit Union Park.

Turning Point

For the second time in the late innings, Harrisburg answered after Akron took the lead. Kervin Pichardo opened the eighth inning with a double before scoring on a single by Cortland Lawson. After a balk, former RubberDucks outfielder Nick Mitchell singled home Lawson to give Harrisburg the 8-7 lead.

Mound Presence

Franklin Gómez made his Double-A debut on Friday allowing five runs over 2.2 innings while striking out three. Jay Driver and Zane Morehouse combined to toss two scoreless innings. Sean Matson allowed three runs and struck out four over 3.1 innings. Carter Rustad tossed a scoreless ninth.

Duck Tales

After Harrisburg jumped out to an early 5-0 lead, Akron responded in the bottom of the second. Four straight walks and a wild pitch scored Luke Hill and Bennett Thompson to make it 5-2 Senators. In the fifth, Maick Collado opened the inning with a single before scoring a few batters later on a single by Aaron Walton. Schubart followed with a three-run home run to the bullpens in right-center to make it 6-5 Akron. After Harrisburg retied the game in the sixth, The RubberDucks took the lead again in the seventh. LaViolette launched a solo home run to left-center field, giving Akron a 7-6 lead.
