Turning Point
Tied entering the bottom of the seventh, the Somerset offense show off their muscle once again. Josh Moylan and Cole Gabrielson hit back-to-back solo home runs to put the Patriots ahead 3-1.
Mound Presence
Franklin Gómez was excelled in his second Double-A start. The only blemish against the left-hander was a solo home run in the first. In total, Gómez allowed just the one run while striking out six over four innings. Sean Matson allowed two runs over 3.1 innings while striking out four. Dylan DeLucia tossed a scoreless two-thirds of an inning.
Duck Tales
Akron’s only offense came in the top of the fourth when Aaron Walton tied the game with a solo home run. The RubberDucks threatened to tie the game in the eighth by getting runners on first and second with one out, but back-to-back strikeouts ended the threat.
