CURVE, Pa. – The Curve pulled out a 7-6 win over the Erie SeaWolves on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
After Erie took the lead on a sacrifice fly from Thayron Liranzo in the top of the ninth, Altoona rallied with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to earn the win. Titus Dumitru and Murf Gray drew two out walks before Callan Moss knocked in a run with a single to center. Easton Carmichael then stepped up for the Curve and blasted a base hit through the left side of the infield to score the game-winning run. It marked Altoona’s fourth walk-off victory of the season.
The teams traded early leads with Murf Gray slamming a solo homer in the first and Keiner Delgado recording an RBI single in the second to cap off a three-run frame that gave Altoona an early 4-2 lead. Erie drew even on a two-run homer from Seth Stephenson in the sixth inning against Curve starter Matt Ager. Ager was touched for five runs over his 5.2 innings on the start.
Mike Walsh carried the Curve bullpen with 2.1 shutout innings of relief, allowing just one baserunner with one strikeout.
Carmichael and Delgado each had two hits in the victory for Altoona, who picked up seven runs on ten hits on Tuesday. Curve hitters drew six walks in the win as every starter reached base safely in the win.
Altoona continues their series with Erie on Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. LHP Nick Dombkowski will start on the mound for the Curve with RHP Lucas Elissalt slated to start for Erie.
