CURVE, PA – The Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, are excited to share the 2027 Altoona Curve Baseball Hall of Fame Player Election Ballot, recognizing a distinguished group of 10 former Curve stars whose performances and contributions helped to shape the franchise’s history. Voting is now open for fans by clicking here.
These 10 nominees represent some of the most memorable players to wear an Altoona Curve uniform, leaving their mark on the field and creating lasting memories for generations of fans. From standout individual accolades in Altoona to career excellence in the Major Leagues, each nominee has earned consideration for the Curve’s highest honor.
The Altoona Curve Baseball Hall of Fame recognizes the outstanding careers and contributions of former players, coaches, executives, and other individuals who have been instrumental in the history of Altoona Curve Baseball. Its goal is to celebrate its members’ achievements and careers both on and off the field. Criteria for selection focuses primarily on accolades earned while in Altoona, but career excellence will also be taken into consideration.
In its first year of existence, original franchise founders Bob & Joan Lozinak, along with the rest of the Lozinak Family, were inducted as the Hall of Fame’s Inaugural Class this past season. The 2027 player ballot was curated by the Altoona Curve Baseball Hall of Fame Committee, whose own individual ballots will combine with the fan vote to help determine the inaugural player class.
Fans are encouraged to vote for up to three players for Hall of Fame induction. Voting will close on Monday, November 30, with the Hall of Fame class to be announced in early 2027 along with the recipient of the Lozinak Lifetime Achievement Award.
The ballot was built by the committee with three rules in mind:
- Players must have made their Altoona Curve debut at least 10 years prior to Opening Day of 2027.
- Players must be at least one year removed from their last professional baseball appearance prior to Opening Day 2027.
- Players must have played for the Curve on the official roster and not solely on a Major League rehab assignment.
“We are thrilled to share this ballot with fans to help determine the first player class for the Hall of Fame!” says Hall of Fame committee member Preston Shoemaker. “With so many talented players passing through Curve, PA throughout our history, it was incredibly challenging for the committee to narrow this ballot down to just 10, but we feel confident that this group is a strong representation of the history of Curve baseball.”
The full election ballot along with each individual’s career statistics and accolades can be found in alphabetical order below:
