
North Little Rock, AR—Jason Ruffcorn pitched scoreless baseball while working a career high five innings in a spot start but the Arkansas Travelers fell to the Amarillo Sod Poodles, 3-1 on Tuesday night. Sod Poodle pitching held the Travs to just two hits. Ruffcorn stuck out three and scattered three hits over his five frames. Amarillo starter Junior Sanchez struck out nine over six innings and surrendered only one run while picking up the win.
Moments That Mattered
* After Arkansas scored in the fifth, Amarillo answered with a pair of runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Jansel Luis drove in the tying run and scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly.
* The Travs drew a pair of walks in the ninth to put the tying runs on base with two out but a fly out ended the game.
