Jason Schiavone has won minor league Player of the Month in the Astros organization for the month of May. This is now back to back player of the month awards for Schiavone after he won in April.
The catcher/first baseman hit .297 in May with 10 home runs and 23 RBIs. He also drew 25 walks. That combination kept his OPS at 1.165 for the month. It also earned a promotion from A+ Asheville Tourists to AA Corpus Christi Hooks.
Schiavone has been in Corpus Christi since May 19th, but still leads the Tourists in both home runs (17) and RBIs (42).
