BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, and their ownership group Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) announced on Thursday the promotion of David “Peterman” Peterson to General Manager.
Peterson brings 19 seasons of experience in professional and collegiate baseball, beginning his career in 2005 as a part-time on-field emcee for the Worcester Tornadoes of the Can-Am League. After three seasons as the club’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Peterson spent several years in advertising before returning to baseball in 2013 with the launch of the Worcester Bravehearts of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
Peterson spent 11 seasons as General Manager of the Bravehearts, leading the organization to four league championships and six top-10 finishes in national collegiate summer league attendance. The Bravehearts were also among the few collegiate summer baseball teams to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the organization was named Organization of the Year four times during Peterson’s tenure.

A graduate of Syracuse University, Peterson earned the nickname “Peterman” during his time as an on-air DJ at WJPZ-FM. He joined the Rumble Ponies in August 2025 as Assistant General Manager of Sales, where he has played an integral role in the club’s sales efforts while building strong relationships with fans, sponsors and the Binghamton community. In his new role, Peterson will oversee the club’s day-to-day business operations and lead the Rumble Ponies into their next chapter.

Peterson succeeds Richard Tylicki, who first joined the organization in 1995 and has been a constant presence through more than three decades of Binghamton baseball, helping guide the club through numerous chapters and changes while building deep relationships throughout the community. The organization thanks him for his many contributions and wishes him all the best in this next chapter.
Under Peterson’s leadership, the Rumble Ponies will continue their focus on delivering a best-in-class experience for fans and strengthening the club’s connection with the Binghamton community.
