BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – Five prospects that the New York Mets acquired around the 2026 MLB trade deadline have been assigned to Double-A Binghamton, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Here’s how the five players rank among the organization’s top 30 prospects (MLB Pipeline): INF Jefferson Rojas (No. 1 & No. 63 overall), INF Émilien Pitre (No. 17), RHP Gary Gill Hill (No. 19), RHP Gabe Davis (No. 20), and INF Billy Amick (NR).
Rojas was acquired by the Mets from the Chicago Cubs in a trade for right-handed pitcher Clay Holmes and outfielder Tyrone Taylor on Monday.
Rojas now ranks as the Mets’ No. 1 prospect and MLB Pipeline’s No. 63 overall prospect. He is also the No. 2-ranked third baseman prospect in baseball.
Before the trade, the 21-year-old ranked as Chicago’s No. 2 prospect and produced a .270 AVG, .339 OBP, .461 SLG, .800 OPS, 15 HR, 57 RBI, 58 R, 19 2B, 35 XBH, and 17 SB in 91 games with Double-A Knoxville. Rojas ranked among the Southern League with 93 H (6th), 57 RBI (T-8th), 35 XBH (9th), and 58 R (9th).
Rojas is in his fifth season in the minor leagues and originally signed with the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent for $1 million in January 2022 at the age of 16-years-old out of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.
Pitre and Gill Hill were acquired, along with outfield prospect Aidan Smith, from the Tampa Bay Rays in a trade for right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta on Sunday.
Pitre now ranks as the Mets’ No. 17 prospect and Gill Hill ranks as the organization’s No. 19 prospect (MLB Pipeline).
Before the trade, Pitre ranked as Tampa Bay’s No. 27 prospect and produced a .323 AVG, .451 OBP, .492 SLG, and .943 OPS with 3 HR, 10 RBI, 25 R, 9 2B, 14 XBH, 30 BB, and 11 SB across 37 games with Double-A Montgomery. The infielder struck out just 17 times. The 23-year-old was promoted to Double-A Montgomery on June 11. In 88 games this season across High-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery, Pitre produced a .308 AVG, .438 OBP, .885 OPS, 5 HR, 46 RBI, 61 R, 28 XBH, 70 BB (40 SO), and 32 SB.
Pitre was originally drafted by the Rays in the second round (58th overall) of the 2024 MLB Draft out of the University of Kentucky. He was a 2023 All-SEC Second Team selection and a two-time All-SEC Defensive Team honoree. He is originally from the suburbs of Montreal in Repentigny, Quebec, Canada.
Before the trade, Gill Hill ranked as Tampa Bay’s No. 26 prospect. He made 15 starts with Double-A Montgomery and went 4-3 with a 4.43 ERA and 61 strikeouts over 81.1 innings. The 21-year-old was promoted to Double-A Montgomery on May 2. In 20 starts across High-A Bowling Green and Double-A Montgomery, Gill Hill went 7-3 with a 4.49 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 108.1 innings.
He was a member of Team Great Britain in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
Gill Hill was originally drafted by the Rays in the sixth round of the 2022 MLB Draft out of John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School in Somers, New York. He was born in New Rochelle, New York.
Davis was acquired, along with pitching prospect Zach Franklin, from the Chicago White Sox in a trade for right-handed relief pitcher Huascar Brazobán on Monday.
Davis now ranks as the Mets’ No. 20 prospect and No. 7 pitching prospect (MLB Pipeline).
Before the trade, the 22-year-old ranked as Chicago’s No. 18 prospect and split the season between High-A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham. Across the two levels, Davis went 0-5 with a 5.81 ERA and 70 strikeouts over 62.0 innings in 18 starts. The 6-foot-9, 234-pound right-hander made 10 starts with Double-A Birmingham and went 0-5 with an 8.31 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 34.2 innings.
Davis is in his first professional season and was originally drafted by the White Sox in the fifth round of the 2025 MLB Draft out of the Oklahoma State University. He made 55 appearances and eight starts during his three-year career in Stillwater. Davis was college teammates with New York Mets rookie right-hander Nolan McLean and rookie outfielder Carson Benge. Davis is originally from Choctaw, Oklahoma, and graduated from Choctaw High School.
Amick was acquired, along with fellow infield prospect Bruin Agbayani, in a trade with the Minnesota Twins for left-handed relief pitcher A.J. Minter on Friday.
The corner infielder made his Double-A Binghamton debut on Saturday against the Reading Fightin Phils at FirstEnergy Stadium and went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. On Sunday against Reading, Amick went 1-for-4 with a walk.
Before the trade, Amick ranked as Minnesota’s No. 21 prospect (MLB Pipeline), and produced a .217 AVG, .820 OPS, 23 HR, 72 RBI, 60 R, 14 2B, 37 XBH, and 50 BB in 86 games with Double-A Wichita. This marks his third professional season and second full season of Minor League Baseball.
At the time of the trade, the 23-year-old ranked among Double-A hitters with 23 HR (T-5th) and 72 RBI (T-6th). Amick ranked among the Texas League T-4th in HR, 4th in RBI, and T-7th with 37 XBH.
Amick was originally drafted by the Twins in the second round (60th overall) of the 2024 MLB Draft out of the University of Tennessee. He won a national championship in 2024, which was his lone season at Tennessee. With the Volunteers, Amick hit .306 with a 1.026 OPS, 23 HR, 65 RBI, 67 R, 14 2B, and 38 XBH in 65 games.
The Batesburg, South Carolina, native played the first two seasons of his college career at Clemson University (2022-23). He was a member of Clemson’s 2023 ACC Championship team and was named an ABCA Second Team All-American and All-ACC First Team selection that season. He hit .413 with a 1.236 OPS, 13 HR, and 63 RBI as a sophomore at Clemson, before transferring to Tennessee. Prior to college, Amick attended P27 Academy in Lexington, South Carolina.
