LAKELAND, Fla. – The Bradenton Marauders (16-29, 47-63) dropped a third straight game in a 3-2 walk-off loss to the Lakeland Flying Tigers (21-23, 52-57) on Friday from Publix Field. Irwin Ramirez fanned four batters through 3.0 frames, while Chris Rembert singled and worked a walk.
After Lakeland took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth, Bradenton scratched across a run in the top of the seventh. Bralyn Brazoban walked, and Raymond Mola singled to put runners on second and first. After reaching third on a sacrifice bunt, Brazoban scored on a throwing error to make it 2-1.
In the top of the ninth, Canon Reeder singled, moved to second on a walk, and reached third on a flyout to put a runner in scoring position. A sacrifice fly from Eddie King Jr. allowed Reeder to score and make it a 2-2 ballgame.
Jesus Pinto drove in the winning run on a single in the bottom of the ninth to finalize a 3-2 win for the Flying Tigers.
Donye Evans (5-0) notched the win, letting up a run on a hit and two walks over 2.0 innings. David Matoma (1-4) took the loss, allowing a run (zero earned) on three hits and a strikeout over 0.2 innings.
Bradenton and Lakeland play the penultimate of a six-game series with first pitch set for 6:00 p.m.
