Cyclones Bats Continue to Sizzle in 15-3 win on Saturday Night

Asheville, NC (August 22,  2026) –  The Brooklyn offensive renaissance continued on Saturday night as they pounded the Asheville Tourists 15-3.   Brooklyn has now scored 52 runs in their five games in Asheville this week, after scoring 57 runs in their previous 14 games during the month of August.  

The Cyclones jumped out to an early 6-0 lead on Saturday evening and never looked back.   The first seven Cyclones batters of the game all reached safely and chased Asheville starter Parker Smith from the game without recording an out. 

Game Notes:

  • Brooklyn has scored 52 runs in five games in Asheville this week, after scoring just 41 runs in their previous 11 games.
  • The Cyclones had just one extra-base hit on Saturday – a double from Yonatan Henriquez – but had 13 total hits and walked 10 times.
  • 19-year-old Elian Pena scored three runs and also collected three RBI.
  • Eight of the nine batters in the Brooklyn starting lineup collected at least one hit and seven of the nine batters in the lineup had at least one RBI.  
  • After another multi-RBI performance on Saturday, Trey Snyder has now driven in 10 runs over his last five games…He is batting .381 (8-21) with six runs scored over this span as well.
  • Aidan Smith went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored…In 15 games with the Cyclones, Smith is batting .345 (20-58) with 15 runs scored and 10 RBI.
