
Buffalo Bisons General Manager, Anthony Sprague, is set to be inducted into SUNY Cortland’s ‘Baseball Legends Club’ as part of their Class of 2026 on Saturday, October 3 in Cortland, NY.
Sprague, a 2001 graduate of Cortland, pitched four seasons with the Red Dragons, helping the team to four consecutive Division III College World Series appearances from 1998-2001. He served as the team captain in 2001, and joined his teammate sin an international competition that include games in Moscow Russia.
In 35 total appearances (16 starts) during his collegiate career, Sprague was 14-1 with a 2.32 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 135.2 innings of work. During his junior year in 2000, he was named First Team All-Region, First Team All-ECAC Upstate New York and First Team All-SUNYAC while going 7-1 with a 2.05 ERA and 1 save. As a senior the following year, Sprague was named to NCAA’s Division III New York Region All-Tournament Team.
Sprague is finishing his 25th season with the Bisons and his 6th as general manager, having been named the third general manager in the team’s modern era in 2020.
