
The Buffalo Bisons have announced that their scheduled game against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Saturday, August 22 at Sahlen Field has been canceled due to rain and the potential for dangerous weather conditions and will not be made up this season.
With the safety of fans, players and staff as the utmost top priority, the Bisons have made the difficult decision to cancel the game early enough for fans to avoid the potential dangerous conditions.
The Bisons will close out their current homestand against the IronPigs on Sunday, August 23 as scheduled (1:05 p.m. first pitch, gates 11:30 a.m.). The game is the Bisons annual Back 2 School Game, presented by Rodriguez Construction Group, with a pregame Vlad Guerrero Jr. Jersey Lunch Bag Giveaway at the MGMT Reputation Gate at Swan St. (11:30 a.m.) and a pregame Carnival, presented by Coca-Cola, at the Oak St. Gate (11:30 a.m.). As a BrightPath Kids Funday Sunday, there will also be a pregame Mascot Meet n’ Greet and postgame Kids Run the Bases, presented by Platter’s Chocolates.
The Bisons Harry Potter Night Promotion has been moved to the Herd’s game against the Worcester Red Sox on Thursday, September 3 (6:05 p.m.) and will still feature a pregame Commemorative Banner Giveaway (5:00 p.m.), a Player Patronus Jersey Raffle and postgame Fireworks, presented by Catholic Health. As a AAA Insurance Thursday Value Night, the game will also feature $10 Tickets for all fans.
Ticket Exchange Information
Fans holding tickets to Saturday’s game can exchange them for a ticket to any remaining 2026 Bisons game. All ticket exchanges must be made at the Sahlen Field Box Office. Please note that these exchanges do not have to be made on Saturday, August 22. Fans with tickets can exchange them throughout the remainder of the 2026 season.
