
WORCESTER, MA – The Buffalo Bisons scored two runs in the tenth inning to defeat the Worcester Red Sox 7-5 on Saturday evening at Polar Park.
Peyton Williams, C.J. Stubbs, and Sean Keys each hit a home run for the Bisons. Sam Gardner and Devereaux Harrison also delivered strong performances on the mound to help secure the victory.
The Red Sox took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Romy Gonzalez that scored Mickey Gasper.
The Bisons responded with back-to-back home runs in the top of the second to take a 3-1 lead. Williams launched a two-run homer that scored Nick Goodwin, and Stubbs immediately followed with a solo home run.
Worcester responded in the bottom of the second to take the lead right back. Brett Harris scored on a wild pitch, and Gonzalez followed with a two-run double that scored Franklin Arias and Nate Eaton.
Sam Gardner retired the side in the bottom of the sixth for the Bisons, striking out two.
Buffalo retook the lead in the top of the seventh on a two-run homer by Keys that scored Carlos Mendoza. His eleventh home run of the season gave the Bisons a 5-4 lead.
Gardner struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh inning. He retired all eight batters he faced, striking out five of them.
The Red Sox tied the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double by Mikey Romero that scored Gasper.
Buffalo retook the lead in the top of the tenth inning. Ismael Munguia hit a two-run double that scored Keys and Yohendrick Piñango to make it 7-5.
Devereaux Harrison retired the side in the bottom of the tenth to seal the victory for Buffalo, striking out two.
