ALLENTOWN, PA – The Buffalo Bisons split a doubleheader against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday night at Coca-Cola Park.
In a game one victory that delayed twice due to inclement weather, the Bisons bullpen stayed locked in to pitch a shutout. In game two, Rudy Martin Jr. had three RBIs and Nick Goodwin scored twice.
In game one, Buffalo took a quick 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single by Charles McAdoo that scored Ismael Munguia.
Starting pitcher Grant Rogers worked three scoreless innings for the Bisons, striking out one.
Brendan Cellucci replaced Rogers following a rain delay and pitched a scoreless one and two-thirds innings, recording one strikeout.
Beau Phillip stepped onto the mound for the Bisons and threw a scoreless two-thirds of an inning, striking out two.
Chase Lee sealed the 1-0 victory for Buffalo, striking out the final two batters.
The Bisons took the first lead of game two in the top of the second on an RBI single by Rudy Martin Jr. that scored Nick Goodwin, making it 1-0.
Lehigh Valley tied the game in the bottom of the third on a solo home run by Kameron Misner.
Buffalo retook the lead in the top of the fourth on a two-run RBI single by Martin Jr. that scored Eloy Jimenez and Goodwin, making it 3-1.
Bisons starting pitcher Richard Gallardo worked four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.
The IronPigs took a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Tommy Pham hit a two-run home run that scored Felix Reyes, and Christian Cairo followed with an RBI single that brought home Otto Kemp and Liover Peguero.
Buffalo and Lehigh Valley are scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. first pitch on Friday evening at Coca-Cola Park. Chad Dallas is slated to start on the mound for the Bisons. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begin at 6:25 p.m.
