BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bisons totaled fifteen hits in a 10-2 victory over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field.
C.J. Stubbs and Rudy Martin Jr. hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning. Josh Kasevich, Sean Keys, Stubbs, and Martin Jr. each scored twice in the win.
Lehigh Valley got out to a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Kameron Misner hit an RBI forceout that scored Tommy Pham, and Dylan Moore followed with an RBI double that scored Rafael Marchan.
Buffalo cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the first on an RBI groundout by Sean Keys that scored Josh Kasevich.
The Bisons took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the second on back-to-back home runs. Stubbs launched a two-run home run that scored Lenyn Sosa, and Martin Jr. followed with a solo home run.
Buffalo extended their lead to 5-2 in the bottom of the third on an RBI single by Peyton Williams that scored Keys.
The Bisons continued their streak of scoring in every inning this afternoon as they extended their lead to 9-2 in the bottom of the fourth, with help from five straight hits. Jay Harry hit an RBI single that scored Stubbs. Sean Keys followed with an RBI single that scored Martin Jr. Yohendrick Pinango capped off the inning with a two-run RBI single that scored Kasevich and Harry.
Ricky Tiedemann threw a scoreless fifth inning with a strikeout for the Bisons.
Chad Dallas pitched a scoreless sixth inning for Buffalo, striking out one.
Buffalo extended their lead to 10-2 in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI single by Williams that scored Keys.
Javen Coleman retired the side in the top of the seventh inning, striking out two.
Buffalo will be heading to Rochester to start a six-game series against the Red Wings on Tuesday. The first game is scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. first pitch at ESL Ballpark.
