Keys blasts Bisons past Lehigh Valley to 8-0 shutout win

Sean Keys recorded his second multi-home run game for Buffalo in the victory

BUFFALO, NY – Sean Keys drove in five runs on two home runs en route to a Buffalo Bisons 8-0 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Friday evening at Sahlen Field. It’s the second time Keys launched two home runs this season, with the last time coming against the Iowa Cubs on June 24.

Richard Gallardo pitched 5.2 scoreless innings while on the mound for the Bisons. Gallardo allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out five batters.

Peyton Williams led Buffalo with three hits in the game. Williams singled in the bottom of the third and seventh innings and doubled in the fourth.

Buffalo snatched the lead first in the third inning. With two outs, Keys blasted a three-run homer to center field.

Keys wasn’t done yet at the plate. In the fifth, he crushed a two-run homer to right field to give the Bisons a comfortable 5-0 advantage.

Jay Harry extended the lead for Buffalo in the sixth inning. Harry drilled a single to left field, driving in William Simoneit from second base. Then, Yohendrick Piñango snuck a two-run single into left field to give the Bisons an 8-0 lead.

Buffalo and Lehigh Valley are scheduled for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch on Saturday at Sahlen Field. The IronPigs leads the series 3-1. CJ Van Eyk will get the start on the mound for the Bisons. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begins broadcast coverage at 6:15 p.m.
