McAdoo homers again in Bisons 10-8 win over Norfolk on Saturday night

Charles McAdoo homered for the third straight game to propel Buffalo to the win

BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bisons launched three home runs in a 10-8 victory over the Norfolk Tides on Saturday evening at Sahlen Field.

Yohendrick Pinango hit his sixth home run of the season, and Willie MacIver followed with a grand slam later in the inning. Charles McAdoo delivered the game-winner with a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth, his fifteenth home run of the season.

Norfolk took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning. Luis Vazquez hit an RBI single that scored Creed Willems, and Enrique Bradfield Jr. brought Ryan Noda home on a bases-loaded walk.

Buffalo responded with five straight hits to take a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the second. Josh Rivera hit an RBI single that scored Josh Kasevich, William Simoneit followed with an RBI single that scored MacIver, and Daz Cameron hit an RBI groundout that scored Rivera.

The Tides tied the game in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Willems that scored Reed Trimble.

The Bisons responded in a big way in the bottom of the fifth. Pinango launched a solo home run, and MacIver followed with a grand slam that scored McAdoo, Sean Keys, and Kasevich to give Buffalo an 8-3 lead.

Norfolk cut into the deficit in the top of the sixth inning. Trimble hit a sacrifice fly that scored Payton Eeles, and Rece Hinds followed with a two-run double that scored Vazquez and Bradfield Jr. to make it 8-6.

Beau Philip retired the side in the top of the seventh inning.

The Tides tied the game in the top of the eighth inning. Hinds hit an RBI single that scored Vazquez, and Heston Kjerstad followed with an RBI groundout that scored Bradfield Jr.

Buffalo responded once again to take the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. McAdoo launched a two-run home run that scored Cameron to make it 10-8.

Tanner Andrews sealed the victory for the Bisons by retiring the side in the top of the ninth, striking out Eeles for the final out.

Buffalo and Norfolk are scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. first pitch on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field. CJ Van Eyk is slated to start on the mound for the Bisons. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begin at 12:45 p.m.
