BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bisons won their second series against the Norfolk Tides since 2019 with a 9-3 victory today on Sunday afternoon at Sahlen Field. Buffalo drove in seven runs and recorded 15 hits.
Daz Cameron and Charles McAdoo both homered in the win for the Bisons. Cameron hit a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh inning and McAdoo hit a solo shot in the eighth. McAdoo is on a four-game home run streak.
McAdoo becomes the third Bisons hitter to homer for four consecutive games in the last three years. The most recent to accomplish the feat was OF Will Robertson last season.
Buffalo got the first lead of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Josh Kasevich hit a sac-fly to right field.
The lead didn’t last long as Norfolk quickly tied the game 1-1 in the fourth. Creed Willems blasted a solo shot to left-center field.
Carlos Mendoza helped the Bisons get the lead back in the bottom half of the inning. Mendoza singled to left field, driving in William Simoneit from second base to score.
However, the Tides took their first lead of the game in the seventh. With two outs on the board, Rece Hinds hit a two-run double to right-center field to put Norfolk up 3-2.
Buffalo responded in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game. William Simoneit singled to left field to drive in Yohendrick Piñango across home plate from second base. Cameron capitalized on Simoneit’s single with a monster grand slam to left field to give the Bisons a 7-3 lead. Josh Kasevich then hit an RBI single to center field to tie himself for the IL lead in hits with 120.
McAdoo added onto Buffalo’s lead in the eighth. He blasted a solo shot to left field to give the Bisons a 9-3 lead.
Buffalo and the Worcester Red Sox are scheduled for a 6:45 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday at Polar Park. Grant Rogers will be the starting pitcher for the Bisons. Pregame coverage on The Bet 1520 AM, the Audacy app, and Bisons.com begins broadcast coverage at 6:25 p.m.
