Cremarosa Delivers Five Strong, Charleston Falls 6-2
Charleston, SC – The Charleston RiverDogs’ bats were quieted on Friday night in their 6-2 loss to the Augusta GreenJackets in front of 4,133 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
The RiverDogs jumped in front early when Dean Moss scored from third on a wild pitch. Augusta evened the score in the fourth on a Dominic Kibler sacrifice fly.
Aidan Cremarosa was strong overall, delivering five innings of one-run ball while fanning five. Across his last two starts, he has limited opponents to just one run across ten innings, while punching out 12.
RiverDogs starters have been stellar throughout the week, as each of the four have at least delivered five innings. Aidan Haugh, Miguel Toscano, Jacob Kuhn and Cremarosa have combined to allow just one run over 21 innings of work (0.43 ERA) while limiting the GreenJackets to just 12 hits (.176 BAA).
Augusta grabbed the lead back in the sixth when Dallas Macias doubled in a run, making it 2-1. The GreenJackets tacked on two more in the eighth and ninth innings to cap scoring at 6-2.
GreenJackets pitching was dominant, at one point retiring 17 straight hitters. After two second-inning singles, Charleston was held hitless for the remainder of the game.
With the loss, the RiverDogs fell to 72-58 and 34-29 in the second half, while Augusta moved to 69-60, and 34-29 in the second half. The two return to the diamond tomorrow for game five of the series. First pitch is slated for 6:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 2:50 on MiLB.TV and the RiverDogs Broadcast Network.

The Charleston RiverDogs celebrated legendary public address announcer Ken Carrington on Friday as he wrapped up his 25th and final season behind the microphone at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. The evening-long tribute included the dedication of the “Ken Carrington Public Address Booth,” a special on-field ceremony proclaiming “Ken Carrington Day” in the City of Charleston, gifts and memorabilia, a performance of the National Anthem by his sons, a video tribute from fans, and a giant retirement card. The celebration continued throughout the game with Ken-themed promotions, cardboard cutouts and fan giveaways, a special cake and cookies, and concluded with a postgame fireworks spectacular set to Ken’s favorite songs. After 25 seasons of welcoming fans, celebrating big moments and bringing his unmistakable personality to The Joe, Carrington received one final unforgettable spotlight from the RiverDogs.

After clinching the Carolina League South first half title, the RiverDogs have secured a spot in the 2026 postseason, presented by Nucor Steel Berkeley. The best-of-three Division Series begins on Tuesday in Hickory, September 8. Thanks to their first-half division title, the RiverDogs are guaranteed to host Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on September 10 and 11.
