RiverDogs Score Six Unanswered to Earn 6-4 Victory
Charleston, SC – Despite an early deficit, the Charleston RiverDogs rallied back to earn a 6-4 victory over the Augusta GreenJackets in front of 5,009 fans at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park.
After Augusta struck early to take a 4-0 lead, the RiverDogs began the chip away in the bottom of the second.
With two outs, JD Gonzalez and Slater de Brun tallied RBI single to cut the deficit to 4-2.
An inning later, Taitn Gray unleashed a solo shot to right to cut the deficit to one. The homer left his bat at 111 miles per hour and marked his eighth of the season.
Both sides traded scoreless innings through the top of the seventh, before the RiverDogs rallied again. With de Brun at third, Grady Emerson lined a sacrifice fly to right to even the score at 4-4. Two hitters later, Tom Poole pounded an RBI single to right to push Charleston ahead 5-4.
In the bottom of the eighth, an error brought home Dean Moss to cap scoring at 6-4.
Yereny Teus slammed the door in the ninth to earn his team-leading seventh save. Between Efrailin Ramos, Riley Stanford and Teus, the RiverDogs’ pen delivered four shutout innings
With the win, the RiverDogs moved to 73-58 and 35-29 in the second half, while Augusta fell to 69-61, and 34-30 in the second half. The two return to the diamond tomorrow for the regular season finale. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m. with coverage beginning at 1:50 on MiLB.TV and the RiverDogs Broadcast Network.

After clinching the Carolina League South first half title, the RiverDogs have secured a spot in the 2026 postseason, presented by Nucor Steel Berkeley. The best-of-three Division Series begins on Tuesday in Hickory, September 8. Thanks to their first-half division title, the RiverDogs are guaranteed to host Game 2, and, if necessary, Game 3, at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on September 10 and 11.

The Perros Santos went out with a bang during an unforgettable Noche de Fiesta at the RiverDogs’ final Copa de la Diversión game of the season. Fans celebrated Hispanic and Latino culture throughout the evening, from the vibrant Perros Santos identity and special uniforms to a lively folkloric dance performance filled with color, music, and movement. The first 1,000 fans also received the inaugural Perros Santos Bobblehead, presented by MUSC Health, featuring the Perros Santos logo dog swinging a bat in the identity’s colorful uniform. With Norsan Media and El Informador joining the celebration, the night was filled with fun, culture, and plenty of festive energy as Charleston came together to send the Perros Santos off in style.
