MOOSIC, PA – Not much happened on Thursday night between the Charlotte Knights and the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Railriders aside from Cody Bellinger’s Major League rehab appearance and Anthony Volpe delivering the only run scoring play of the night.

The ballgame was delayed over two hours, shortened to a seven-inning game, and offense was at a premium. The RailRiders ended up prevailing 2-0 on Volpe’s two-run Home Run.

Noah Schultz drew the start for Charlotte and the lefty put together a strong outing. Schultz went four shutout frames and impressively worked around a leadoff double in the third. Adisyn Coffey pitched the final two innings.

The Knights had a couple of chances to jump in front. Charlotte left the bases loaded in the top of the second, then left a runner at second base in the fourth inning when an automatic third strike ended the threat.

Ryan Galanie was the lone Knight to reach base twice in a game that featured three Charlotte hits. Mario Camilletti and Joey Wiemer both chipped in with singles.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre snapped their four-game skid and moved to within 1.5 games of first place while the Knights remain five games back in the second half standings.

Game Four of the series is scheduled for Friday night at 7:05pm ET.
