Reading, PA (August 16, 2026) – The Chesapeake Baysox, the Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, and the Reading Fightin Phils, the Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, saw their Sunday night series finale canceled due to rain.
The game will not be made up, with the sides not scheduled to meet again during the 2026 regular season. The Baysox clinched the series win after taking three of the five games played this week – the second road series win of the season.
Chesapeake now sits five and a half games back of the Erie SeaWolves for first place in the Eastern League Southwest division’s second half playoff berth. Both teams have 24 remaining games in the 2026 regular season following Sunday night’s cancellation.
The Baysox now return home to open a six-game series on against the Richmond Flying Squirrels, the Double-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Promotions include Military Appreciation Night on Tuesday presented by John’s Hopkins Community Physicians, Woof Wednesday presented by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Baysox Live Happy Hour on Thursday presented by Budweiser, Back to School Night on Friday – including a Crayola crayon set giveaway, postgame fireworks presented by Educational Systems Federal Credit Union and Kids Run the Bases presented by Raising Canes.
Saturday, August 22 is Football Night, with former Maryland Terrapin and Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl champion Jermaine Lewis. It also includes postgame fireworks and Kids Run the Bases presented by Raising Canes. Sunday, August 23 is SpongeBob Splash Day with specialty themed jerseys. Fans can also enjoy pregame autographs from select Baysox players, 30 minutes of free Kids Park access pregame, and all fans run the bases postgame, presented by Wegmans.
All the action starts on Tuesday night at Prince George’s Stadum. First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6:35 pm ET.
