CLEARWATER, FL - After a successful season of over 70 wins and a playoff berth, four Clearwater Threshers players and their manager, Aaron Barrett, were named to the Florida State League (Single-A) All-Star Team. Four Threshers were selected to the FSL All-Star team, more than any other squad, and Barrett took home the manager of the year award in his first season as a manager of a professional baseball club. Alirio Ferrebus (Catcher), Nathan Humphreys (Outfield), Brad Pacheco (Starting Pitcher), and Juan Villavicencio (Designated Hitter) marked the most Threshers All-Stars since the team transitioned to Single-A in 2021.
Aaron Barrett - Florida State League Manager of the Year
Less than one month after earning the nod from Baseball America as the Single-A Manager of the Year, Aaron Barrett earned the same honor from the Florida State League and Minor League Baseball as the Manager of the Year in 2026. A former world champion reliever with the Washington Nationals, Barrett had served as the Phillies' Minor League Rehab Pitching Coordinator since retiring as a player with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in 2022. He and the Threshers got off to a hot start, securing the team's third FSL West First Half Title in four seasons with a 40-26 record in the first half of the season. 40 wins made the Threshers the only FSL team with 40 or more wins in the first half and one of just two teams in all of Single-A to reach that mark in the first 66 games of the 2026 season. Barrett and the Threshers finished 74-55 overall, with a winning percentage that ranked seventh all-time in the history of Clearwater minor league baseball.
Alirio Ferrebus - Catcher
Before his late-July call-up to High-A Jersey Shore, Alirio Ferrebus may have been the best hitter in the Florida State League. The now-21-year-old backstop was instrumental in securing the Threshers' first-half title, leading the Florida State League in nearly every batting category at the time of his promotion. He finished his 2026 tenure with the Threshers with a whopping .324 batting average and an impressive slugging percentage of .520. His 21 doubles and 58 RBIs paced the team until late August, nearly one month after he was sent up to the BlueClaws. He was no slouch on defense, either, posting a .964 fielding percentage behind the player and throwing out one quarter of attempted basestealers. Ferrebus turned 21 in early September and catapulted from #22 to the number nine spot in the Phillies prospect rankings, according to MLB.com, where he is currently ranked as the best catcher in the Phillies farm system.
Nathan Humphreys - Outfielder
Despite going undrafted following a distinguished four-year career at Dallas Baptist University, Nathan Humphreys has quickly become one of the most exciting outfielders in the Phillies' farm system. Humphreys flashed the leather in center field early and often when he joined the Threshers in August of 2025, but his power came through in a big way in his first full season as a professional with 12 home runs and 17 doubles in the first half of the 2026 season. In 70 games with Clearwater, Humphreys stole 21 bases in 26 attempts, drove in 41 runs, and struck out just one more time (49) than he walked (48). In over 700 minor league innings between left, right, and center field, Humphreys has yet to make an error on defense, showcasing elite discipline and maturity for the young outfielder. His 2026 campaign helped Humphreys rise from a relatively unknown prospect to the #23 prospect in the Phillies system (MLB.com). With a father who used to play for the Yankees and a brother in the Angels' minor league system, Nathan Humphreys is building to become the next in his family name to reach the bigs with five-tool potential in the outfield.
Brad Pacheco - Right-Handed Pitcher
One of four Florida State Leaguers with over 100 innings pitched and 100 strikeouts, Brad Pacheco was an anchor of the Threshers' rotation in his first season of Single-A baseball. Pacheco was one of five players to make 21 starts in 2026, and he pitched 3.0 or more innings in all 23 of his appearances on the mound, with two coming out of the bullpen. In 101.1 innings pitched, Pacheco struck out 111 batters and walked just 22, giving him less than one walk per game pitched. He earned the win on June 13 that helped the Threshers clinch the First Half Title, and earned an FSL Player of the Week nod before the All-Star Break after a 6.0-inning, seven-strikeout gem against the Tampa Tarpons. He finished the season against Tampa in the playoffs, surrendering just one run in 5.2 innings of relief in the game-one shutout loss.
Juan Villavicencio - Infielder
With his ability to field all around the infield at an elite level and an electric bat, Juan Villavicencio had a breakout season for the Clearwater Threshers that earned him an All-Star nod in a Florida State League that was loaded with middle-infield talent. Despite former first-round picks like JoJo Parker and Dax Kilby grabbing the spotlight, Villavicencio solidified his spot as one of the best infielders in the league with elite defense and an OPS of .923 in 70 games for the Clearwater Threshers, turning 21 double plays at short for the Threshers and helping Clearwater end the season as the best defensive team in the FSL. Villavicencio played parts of the previous two seasons with the Threshers, hitting just one home run in his first 28 games with the club in 2024 and 2025. Villavicencio broke out with 13 long balls and 20 stolen bases, both leading the Threshers when he was promoted to Jersey Shore at the end of July. He also finished the season with five triples, good for third place in the whole Florida State League. His combination of speed, defense, and power makes Villavicencio an exciting prospect to watch, moving into the Phillies' top 20 for the first time on MLB.com.
