COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Fireflies close out their home slate with 13 games in 13 days at Segra Park from August 18-30. The Fireflies will welcome the Augusta GreenJackets (Class-A, Atlanta Braves) and Charleston RiverDogs (Class-A, Tampa Bay Rays) to town. The club is pulling out all the stops for a great promotional stretch with three giveaways, 25 cent hot dogs, a drone show, synchronized hippos and two fireworks shows before the end of the month.

Synchronized Hippos Night on a Budweiser Thirsty Thursday

How far can you take one mistakenly funny Jeopardy question? At least as far as we’re going for Synchronized Hippos night. The Fireflies are wearing Synchronized Hippos jerseys, hosting trivia and even bringing Lauren, the contestant who answered hippos to the game. STEM Night and Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Celebration presented by NUCOR

Sunday is STEM Night at Segra Park, and a celebration of the Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup championship. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Hurricanes championship t-shirt courtesy of Nucor! We’ll have stations to allow kids to interact with STEM concepts along the concourse and post-game kids can run the bases thanks to Bang Back Pinball Lounge and there will be a full-team autograph session on the field courtesy of E.F. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a luxury Mason toothbrush holder to help inspire everyone to be excited to brush their teeth. At least going to a Fireflies game never feels like pulling teeth, come out to enjoy the start of the final weekend of the season at the ballpark.

Fan Appreciation Night with a Post-Game Fireworks Show

Today is all about the fans. The Fireflies couldn’t do what we do without the Midlands, so this is a thank you for all the support throughout the season. For tonight’s game, the team is hosting innings of winning, where there will be prizes given away each inning to those in attendance. After the game, kids can run the bases thanks to Bang Back Pinball Lounge, there will be a full-team autograph session courtesy of E.F. Martin and we’ll cap off the season with a dazzling fireworks show.
Scouting the Opponent
The Fireflies welcome the Augusta GreenJackets and the Charleston RiverDogs to town over this two week homestand to close out the season. The Augusta GreenJackets are the Class-A Affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and have Atlanta’s 26th overall pick in this year’s draft, outfielder Carter Beck, on their roster. Beck is hitting .353 across his first eight games this season. The GreenJackets also have 2026 draftees Dominic Kibler, Caleb Klein and Parker Brosius on their roster along with undrafted free agent Matt Scannell.
The Charleston RiverDogs were first-half South Division champions and still hold the core of their roster from the start of the year. That includes top prospects like Cooper Flemming (5th), Taitn Gray (6th), Daniel Pierce (13th), Slater de Brun (14th), Andreimi Antunez (19th) and Dean Moss (30th). The RiverDogs have been led this season by a dynamic infield and strong offense from the outfield.
