COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Columbia Fireflies announced today that Segra Park will play host to the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina baseball teams in a fall scrimmage Friday, October 16 at 6:30 pm. Gates will open for the contest at 5:30 pm.
The NCAA allows baseball teams to practice up to 27 times in September and October each year while scheduling up to four external exhibitions to evaluate players on their teams each season. This will be the first time Segra Park is hosting a Fall Ball exhibition.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to host these two great college baseball programs for the first time in the fall,” said Fireflies President Brad Shank. “This will give fans a chance to get a sneak peek at both teams before the 2027 season, but most importantly, this is an opportunity to help support Camp Cole, whose staff and volunteers are doing amazing things for kids and families in our community."
Tickets for the game will be $15 in the seating bowl and $25 in the club section. There will be a limited number of suites available for the contest. Fans interested in purchasing a suite can call the Fireflies sales team at (803)-726-4487 and a Fireflies Account Manager will assist them.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the scrimmage will go to benefit Camp Cole, a camp and retreat center in Eastover, South Carolina that focuses on creating exceptional year-round activities for children, teens and adults who are navigating serious illnesses, disabilities and complex life challenges. Since being founded in 2021, Camp Cole has partnered with 168 people and 3,425 volunteers to provide great experiences for over 14,000 campers.
The Fireflies close out their home slate with a 12-game homestand from August 18-30. The two-week stretch is riddled with fun promotions like Synchronized Hippos Night Thursday, August 20, Faith & Family Night with a pre-game Sam Wesley Concert Saturday, August 22, Harry Potter Night with a Mason Wizard Bobblehead giveaway, Saturday, August 29 and Fan Appreciation Night Sunday, August 30.
