Atlanta Braves' No. 2 prospect Cam Caminiti put the finishing touches on a strong first Double-A campaign with a quality start for the Columbus Clingstones (34-31, 63-66), but the offense lagged behind in a 6-1 loss to the Montgomery Biscuits (33-31, 68-65) on Wednesday night at DABOS Park.
Decisive Plays: Columbus took the lead in the fourth inning after John Gil reached third base and scored on a double play. Montgomery tied the game in the sixth inning on an RBI triple from Mac Horvath. An attempted double steal for the Biscuits was successful to score Justyn-Henry Malloy in the seventh inning and hand Montgomery a 2-1 lead. The Biscuits scored four times in the eighth inning, including a three-run home run from Theo Gillen to take a 6-1 lead. After two walks, the Clingstones struck out three times in the ninth inning to end the game.
