Decisive Plays: Columbus struck first on Taylor's two-run homer (2) in the first inning. A sacrifice fly from Jake Thompson got Rocket City on the board in the third inning. A three-run missile from Jordan Groshans (19) fired Columbus ahead 5-1 in the fourth frame. The Clingstones tacked on two more runs in the seventh and ended their night at the plate with a monster three-run home run from Adam Zebrowski (9) in the eighth inning.
Key Contributors: Groshans (1-for-4, HR, 3 RBI) led a trio of three RBI games for Columbus that included Taylor (3-for-5, HR, 3 RBI) and Zebrowski (2-for-5, HR, 3 RBI). LHP Braden Scott (6.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO) worked a quality start on the mound. For Rocket City, Caleb Bartelero (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) had the only multi-hit game.
Notable: Columbus recorded its 10th game of the season with three or more home runs. Scott logged the Clingstones' 14th quality start of the second half. Columbus improved to 5-1 when scoring 10 or more runs this season.
