
The Columbus Clingstones (26-22, 55-57) combined power and pitching with four home runs on offense and sparkling start from Garrett Baumann in their 6-1 win over the Montgomery Biscuits (26-22, 61-56) on Thursday night at Synovus Park.
Decisive Plays: A leadoff double and a wild pitch scored Gregory Barrios and gave Montgomery the lead in the first. Jordan Groshans tied the game with a two-out solo home run (24) in the fourth inning. Three batters later, Archer Brookman launched a go-ahead three-run home run (8) to give Columbus a 4-1 lead. In the fifth, Alex Lodise launched his first Double-A home run with a solo shot to make it 5-1. Groshans added the exclamation point with a towering solo home run (25) in the eighth inning.
Key Contributors: Baumann (W, 7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO) worked his second-straight quality start on the mound. At the plate, Groshans (2-for-4, 2 HR, 2 RBI), Brookman (1-for-3, HR, 3 RBI) and Lodise (1-for-4, HR, RBI) combined for the four-homer tally. For Montgomery, Barrios (2-for-4, 2B) had the only multi-hit performance.
Notable: Baumann reached 7.0 innings in a start for the fourth time this season. Lodise collected his 26th home run of 2026 across three levels, the most among Braves minor leaguers. Columbus starting pitchers have posted three-straight quality starts in this series. Columbus recorded its seventh game with four or more home runs this season. Four have come against Montgomery.
