Cam Caminiti tossed his first career Double-A quality start, but after Atlanta's top pitching prospect departed the game, the Montgomery Biscuits (26-20, 61-54) broke out for nine unanswered runs to pull away from the Columbus Clingstones (24-22, 53-57) in a 10-4 series opening loss on Tuesday night at Synovus Park.

Decisive Plays: Caminiti tamed a bases-loaded, one-out threat in the second inning and allowed only one run to Montgomery on a sacrifice fly. Columbus sparked its offense in the sixth inning, rallying for two runs to take the lead on an Owen Carey RBI single and an RBI walk from Carson Taylor. A grand slam from Caden Bodine launched Montgomery ahead 5-2 in the seventh inning. The Biscuits would score five times in the ninth inning to take a 10-2 lead. Adam Zebrowski launched a two-run home run (11) in the ninth inning, but the game was out of reach by that stage.

Key Contributors: Caminiti (6.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 SO) and Zebrowski (1-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) had the best nights for Columbus. For Montgomery, Bodine (1-for-4, HR, 4 RBI) had the decisive swing with his grand slam.

Notable: Zebrowski recorded his 14th home run of the season between Columbus and Triple-A Gwinnett, a new single-season best. Caminiti logged the 18th quality start for Columbus since June 1, the best mark in the Southern League. Eric Hartman extended his on-base streak to 13 games.

Next Game (Wednesday, August 19): Columbus vs. Montgomery, 7:06 p.m. ET at Synovus Park. RHP Brett Sears (4-4, 3.55 ERA) will start for Columbus opposed by RHP Jackson Baumeister (4-3, 5.53 ERA) for Montgomery. Radio Broadcast: 6:50 p.m. ET on SportsVisions 92.1 FM. Stream: Bally Sports Live.
