COLUMBUS, OH - The Columbus Clippers defeated the visiting St. Paul Saints 1-0 Tuesday. Five pitchers combined to keep the Saints off the scoreboard in front of 9,681 fans on the season's final Dime-A-Dog Night.
Clippers pitchers Steven Pérez, Izaak Martinez, Shawn Armstrong (on MLB rehab assignment), Ryan Webb, and Carlos Hernandez teamed up to scatter seven hits and strikeout eleven hitters without allowing a run. Martinez was credited with his first career victory at the Triple-A level.
Dayan Frias laced a live drive to left field which brought in George Valera from second base, giving Columbus an early 1-0 lead. It was the 35th RBI for Frias this season.
Milan Tolentino became the second 20/20 player in Clippers history, joining himself, as he was the first to accomplish the feat last season.
