COLUMBUS, OH - Columbus catcher/outfielder Cooper Ingle has been named the International League Player of the Week for the period of July 28-August 2. He is the second member of the Clippers to be honored this season with a League weekly award, joining infielder Milan Tolentino (April 13-19).
Ingle, barely a month after making his Major League debut in a seven-game stint with the Guardians, continued his domination of Triple-A pitching over the past six days to lead the Clippers to a 5-1 week.
Ingle was near the top of the Triple-A leaderboard in almost every offensive category for the week. He was 2nd in the classification with a .520 batting average, 13 hits, three home runs, 10 RBI, and a .960 slugging percentage, while finishing 3rd with 24 total bases and nine runs scored.
The 24-year-old from Ashville, North Carolina leads all Triple-A hitters this season with a .606 slugging percentage. His .327 average this season is currently 2nd in the International League, and he leads the Clippers with 17 long balls. Ingle is ranked by MLB.com among the top three prospects in the Guardians organization and the top 60 in the game. In June he was selected to participate in the 2026 MLB Futures Game in Philadelphia but was replaced on the roster after being promoted to Cleveland.
Cooper Ingle was a 4th round selection of the Cleveland Guardians in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Clemson University. In his first full season playing professionally in 2024, he was named Most Valuable Player of the Class-A Midwest League. He made his Triple-A debut with Columbus in 2025.
