CORPUS CHRISTI - Andrew Taylor fired four frames of one-run ball in his Double-A debut and four Hooks relievers teamed to allow one hit as Corpus Christi knocked off Tulsa, 3-1, before 3,576 fans at Whataburger Field.
The Hooks lead the series, 3-2, while also ahead in the season set, 6-5.
Max Holy homered for the second time in a three-game span, launching a no-doubt solo shot to left in the third. Holy has eight home runs on the season, with seven coming at Double-A. The 24-year-old from Clinton, Iowa hit two homers in 94 Class A games last year.
Will Bush drew a two-out walk in the fourth and then sprinted home on a dropped fly ball in left field, putting CC in front at 2-1.
Yamal Encarnacion added insurance in the sixth. After beating out an infield hit, Encarnacion stole second and then scampered home on a pair of wild pitches. Encarnacion leads the Texas League with 48 stolen bases.
Taylor struck out five against three hits and three walks while stranding four. Railin Perez earned the victory, striking out two in 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Nic Swanson retired all four batters he faced, breezing two.
Amilcar Chirinos struck out the first man he faced but then walked the next three before inducing a double play to blank the Drillers in the eighth.
Joey Mancini struck out two in a perfect ninth to earn the save.
