WICHITA - Following 2 2/3 scoreless innings by Trey Dombroski, four Corpus Christi relievers teamed for 6 1/3 frames of two-run ball Tuesday night, leading the Hooks to a 3-2 win over the Wind Surge at Equity Bank Park.
Corpus Christi is 18-11 in its last 29 games on the road.
Joey Mancini earned the victory by recording the first eight outs by the Corpus Christi bullpen. The two runs against Mancini came in the sixth as Caden Kendle capitalized on a lead-off error with his third home run in as many games.
Railin Perez struck out four in two shutout innings, with Jose Guedez stranding a pair of walks in the eighth.
Amilcar Chirinos, now 7-for-9 in save chances, bypassed a lead-off free pass in the ninth to nail down the 3-2 win.
The Hooks took charge with a pair in the second. Chase Call, who saved a run with an outfield assist in the third, began the scoring via a sac fly. Max Holy upped his hitting streak to seven games and his on-base streak to 20 contests with an RBI double to left-center.
Will Bush accounted for the game winning swing thanks to a two-out blast to left field in the fifth. The no-doubt solo home run is Bush's 11th long ball of the season and his seventh homer in the last 33 games.
