Alonzo Tredwell, making just his second start of the season, walked five to prompt a first-inning exit with the RockHounds up, 2-0.
The Corpus Christi bullpen backed Tredwell by limiting Midland to one earned run on five hits and two walks over 8 1/3 innings.
Nic Swanson carried the bulk, retiring 10 of 12 batters faced from the first through the fourth. Swanson has blanked foes in four of five outings since limiting Tulsa to a solo homer over 2 1/3 August 5.
Ramsey David, hitting 100 MPH, turned in 1 1/3 perfect innings, striking out two. David boasts a 1.04 ERA in seven August assignments, breezing 11 batters in 8 2/3.
Hudson Leach, who struck out two and dispatched all four RockHounds he faced, has not been charged with a run over his last five outings, spanning seven innings.
Both of Corpus Christi's hits came in the second. For the second time in three games, Jason Schiavone blasted a home run.
