Dayton, Ohio – The Dayton Dragons, in partnership with Flying Ace Express Car Wash, will recognize Journey League Dayton, as a “Community All-Stars” recipient during a special inning break of the Dragons game on Tuesday, August 4 against the Great Lakes Loons at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
Journey League Dayton is dedicated to putting athletes first. Through the game of basketball, the organization provides a safe, welcoming, and empowering environment where individuals of all abilities can learn, grow, compete, achieve, and belong. More than just a sports program, Journey League serves as a community built on acceptance, encouragement, and opportunity, and for many athletes and families, it represents something much larger than a basketball league.
Today, Journey League proudly serves more than 100 athletes throughout the Dayton region. In partnership with the Beavercreek Stars, the organization hosts its winter basketball season at Henley Hall, where athletes gather every Saturday to learn the game, develop friendships, and create lasting memories. The program also offers a summer basketball camp, continuing its mission of engagement, inclusion, and growth throughout the year.
Since its founding, the program has never charged athletes an enrollment fee, ensuring that financial circumstances never prevent participation. This commitment is made possible through generous community sponsorships, donations, and the dedication of volunteers who give their time and talents to support athletes and families.
